Dr Archana Rao has a decade of experience in dermatology in the UK as well as overseas. Her initial training was in Mumbai, India where she worked predominately with ethnic skin. Later she trained in dermatology and dermatosurgery at Imperial College, London (Chelsea & Westminster and Ealing hospitals).
Dr Rao has won several scholarships in dermatology by the European Academy of Dermatologists and was awarded a gold medal for her study on the dermatoscope on ethnic skin by the Indian Association of Dermatologists. She has presented papers at various international meetings such as the European Academy of Dermatology and European Hair Research Society. Dr Rao has been actively involved in teaching, especially to the local GP community and has taught dermatology to junior colleagues on courses nationally.
Her areas of interest include dermatosurgery (mole removal), acne, ethnic skin and hair disorders.
